About the event
With a Keynote Presentation from the Rt Hon Lillian Greenwood MP, Minister for Future Roads at the DfT other speakers from National Highways, the National Police Chiefs Council and leading tier 1 contactors, the event will examine the subject of abuse in much greater detail and look at strategies which employers and adopt and the support available from law enforcement agencies and broader society.
In 2023 alone, a total of 2307 reported being either verbally or physically abused whilst at work out on the public highway – and those are only the ones that were reported. The negative impact on the mental health of those subjected to such abuse is a significant concern for employers.
Over 50% of those in Public Facing roles admit they are abused on a weekly basis. Over 70% of admit they are abused at least once a month and over 80% also admit they do…
