Following the success of the inaugural Respect our Workforce Week, Stamp it Out is to launch the second phase of its strategy at this year's summit.
Having changed perceptions around roadworker abuse and the levels to which incidents are reported, the campaign will now take on a joint focus of prevention as well ask rosk mitigation.
Taking place on the 17th September 2024 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London City and featuring a series of key, high profile (yet to be announced speakers) from across not only our own sector but also others where public facing employees are at significant risk of abuse from members of the public, the event is a must attend for all of those responsible for putting people to work on the public highways and across the rail sector.
Building on the huge success of last year's launch at the House of Lords, the Summit will examine the subject of abuse in much greater detail and look at strategies which employers and adopt and the support available from law enforcement agencies and broader society. The next phase of the campaign will also be discussed.
Speaking about the launch of phase 2 opf the strategy, Adrian Tatum explained why it was necessary to continue to build upon the successes of this year, he said,
"Respect our Workforce week was a phenomenal success which surpassed even our own wildest expectations as we reached 1 in 6 of the UK population with our Think Respect campaign.
"But it is critical that we don't rest on our laurels as the levels of incursions and abuse are still far too high.
"We now find ourselves in a unique position of having a rapidly expanding spheres of influenece and so it is right to continue the momentum we have generated."
Featuring speakers such as Matthew Eglinton, Head of Local Roads at the DfT, Chief Inspector Steve O'Keeffe and Anne Shaw, Chief Executive, Transport for West Midlands, the one day event will be a unique opportunity to engage with thought leaders around the subject.
